Tell us a little about your professional background.

I am deeply committed to harnessing the collective power of public, private, and philanthropic sectors to drive meaningful social impact. Over my 22-year career, I've cultivated a diverse skill set through leadership roles across government, philanthropy, and both nonprofit and for-profit national organizations. Before co-founding Perceptist, I led operations and strategy for Education Strategy Group, playing a key role in developing and launching the strategy to scale the organization to the next phase of growth. My experience also includes serving as Director of Government Affairs and Policy at Year Up, Inc., and as a program officer at the Carnegie Corporation of New York, where I conducted grant-making to advance national education reforms and innovative school designs. Eight years of my career were dedicated to Jobs for the Future, where I launched a new office and directed influential national and federal policy activities in Washington, DC. In 2010, I had the honor of testifying before the United States Senate HELP Committee. My passion for social impact began in Texas, where I served as Chief of Staff for a member of the Texas House of Representatives.

What brings you to this work?

This work is a personal calling. I am driven by an inner purpose to elevate the life outcomes of communities and individuals around our world. I've been inspired by the remarkable potential of exceptionally designed organizations, guided by impassioned leaders, to not just tackle challenges, but to unlock boundless opportunities—mirroring the transformative experiences that have shaped and created opportunity on my own journey.

What brings you joy in your life?

I live a life of joy! I treasure the joy of moments with my daughter, whether it is listening to her play the violin or piano, or indulging in her favorite meal, sushi. I am also an ardent enthusiast of house music, finding profound joy and happiness in the pulsating beats and soul-stirring lyrics. My life of joy is grounded in my mindfulness practice and the solace I find in writing, cooking, gardening, crafting interiors, and engaging in enriching conversations.

Tell us a little about your professional background.

My background is in nonprofit and business consulting and philanthropy and impact investing. Prior to co-founding Perceptist, I served as Director of Strategy and Innovation at Education Strategy Group, a national education consulting firm, where I led the organization’s strategic planning process and its subsequent implementation. Before that, I worked at Agora Partnerships where I built out Agora’s presence in Colombia and supported early stage growth social businesses from Argentina to Mexico to define their growth and impact strategies and raise impact investment, first as a management consultant and then as head of Agora’s flagship accelerator program. Earlier in my career, I was a grantmaker at Carnegie Corporation of New York on the New Designs to Advance Learning teams where I identified organizations whose work would advance our strategy to help schools and school systems reorient towards more student-centered and future-oriented learning experiences. I began my career as an educator in New York City and Latin America. These experiences have given me a diverse perspective on organizational growth and funding strategies across sectors to drive impact and a deep set of skills to help leaders build stronger organizations.

I completed my undergraduate studies at Wesleyan University and hold masters degrees from Columbia University in Quantitative Methods and from Fordham University in Education.

What brings you to this work?

I believe in the power of smart people working and learning together to solve big challenges. Organizational design, from an inspirational guiding strategy to aligning the right capacities and systems, is a powerful way for leaders to organize the efforts from people on their teams towards a bigger purpose and amplify their organization’s impact. The way we approach strategy at Perceptist demystifies it into something more tangible and actionable for leaders. I am energized by the holistic problem-solving that is at the heart of strategy consulting, and I love the partnerships we build with our clients in support of their missions.

What brings you joy in your life?

I’m grateful to say that I find joy in many facets of life! Regularly making time to appreciate the brilliance of different art forms and finding awe in the beauty of the natural world are essential components of a happy life for me. I love to travel and exploring new places both near and far always inspires and humbles me. A good home-cooked meal and time shared with my friends and family are also fundamental sources of joy in my life.

Tell us a little about your professional background.

I have dedicated my career to solving big challenges with innovative approaches that create lasting, structural change. To do so, I draw upon my background in politics, government, and journalism. As Chief of Media Relations at the Ford Foundation, I created meaningful, impactful campaigns on social justice issues to enhance the profile of one of the world’s largest philanthropies and its president, Darren Walker, an honoree of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People. I also directed executive, enterprise, and internal communications at Consumer Reports. Most recently, I founded a communications consultancy where I am regularly called upon by leaders across sectors to provide communications guidance to navigate crises and complex, real-time dynamics, and minimize reputational risk. I thrive in helping leaders craft strategic communication plans that leverage communications as a powerful tool to further their missions.

What brings you to this work?

The unifier in my career has been a steadfast dedication to the public interest and mission-driven organizations. I have a passionate belief in the potential to shift people’s perspectives through powerful storytelling. From supporting land rights for Indigenous communities in Brazil to advocating for the rights of gig workers, I have learned by listening to those closest to the challenges and always try to design communications campaigns that reflect these critical perspectives and solutions.

What brings you joy in your life?

Being seated at a table, surrounded by family and friends, enjoying a spicy meal while chatting about the walk we just took, the books we’ve read, or the news of the day. All the better when the table is outside, the food freshly caught or picked, with an ocean breeze.
